The Coaching Staff is thankful for the wonderful teachers and staff at Kathleen High School. We want to especially thank our Principal Cecil McClellan and Athletic Director Gary Lineberger for giving us the opportunity "to be the difference".

Head Coach Holmes:
I have been the head coach at Kathleen High School since July of 2007 but have been coaching at Kathleen Senior High School since the spring 2005.  When I came to KHS to coach I was teaching elementary school, but joined the staff at KHS as a math teacher in the fall of 2006.  Before coming to Florida, I was a pitching coach for one year at Salina South High School in Kansas.  I played one year varsity baseball at that high school and then went to Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas.  I became a pitcher in college and worked hard to get better each day.  Because of my hard work and achievements, I was asked to go to Europe in 1998 and 2000 to play for USAthletes International.  I have lived in Lakeland since July 2002, and I have been blessed with a wonderful wife named Yadira since Dec. 2005.  My wife and I are blessed with three wonderful children.

Varsity Assistant Coach Bard:
I joined the staff at Kathleen High School August 2007.  Previously I was an assistant coach at Winter Haven High School.  Baseball has been a big part of my life; I have played organized ball since I was 5 years old .  My high school career at Winter Haven High School led me to play at Saint Leo College.  I owe my career to the coaches who have instructed and inspired me.  I look forward to giving back to the game as a coach, and hope to inspire the many who play for me.  I am blessed to be the father of twins, Hunter and Hogan.  I hope they will one day love to play the game as I did when I was a kid.

JV Head Coach Salimbene:
I began coaching baseball here at Kathleen High School in 2005, but then did not coach during the 2006 season. I am now back teaching at Kathleen and could not be happier to be working with the baseball program. I grew up playing baseball in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Montour High School where I played 4 years on the varsity team. I then attended Florida Southern College, where I played baseball during my freshman and sophomore seasons. I specialize in working with infielders, however I have played just about everywhere on the field at one point or another. My baseball philosophy is that I want to build quality baseball players who do the LITTLE things, the RIGHT way.

Assistant Coach Hayden:
I have been coaching and teaching at Kathleen High School since the fall of 2006.  In the preceding years before joining KHS, I had lived in Japan for two years teaching English in High School. During that time I was also an assistant coach for the Shiroko High School baseball team. I graduated from Murray State University, which is in Western Kentucky, in 2004. I met my wife there, Jaime, and we have been married since  2003.

Assistant Coach Cress:
I have been coaching and teaching at Kathleen High School since the fall of 2006.  I was the head varsity baseball coach at Schaeffer Academy in Rochester, Minnesota for six years.  I also served as head varsity basketball coach for seven years.  I graduated from Southeastern University.  My wife, Tammy, and I have been married since 1984 and have three wonderful children.  Aaron, my oldest is a student at Southeastern.  Eric is a prospective 2010 graduate of KHS, and Katelyn is a fifth grader at one of the best elementary schools around!
